If you're planning an event in downtown Sacramento, there's no better place than the Citizen Hotel's event spaces. Our flexible meeting and event spaces are the perfect location for parties, business events, and more.

Businesses can find the ideal meeting space for conferences, board meetings, press conferences, or office functions. We also offer the perfect event space for wedding showers, engagement parties, birthday parties or reunions. Of course, all spaces are convenient to everything downtown Sacramento has to offer.

We have over 11,000 square feet of meeting and conference facilities, including the historic Plaza Park Ballroom and the tented Metropolitan Terrace. On the second floor, you'll find the Quorum Room and its two breakout rooms "Yea" and "Nay". Grange Restaurant & Bar or the more casual Scandal Lounge can also be rented to provide truly unique function space for your event.

Our magnificent rooftop Metropolitan Terrace has views of the California State Capitol and the downtown skyline. The terrace is dramatically tented and enclosed on two sides with operable windows which can be opened during beautiful weather to give you the feeling of an outdoor event space. If you prefer to use the space for a formal meeting, the blackout drapes can be pulled closed to create a more intimate setting. The neutral color palette is the perfect blank canvas to add your own personal touch for your party, gala, political event or fundraiser. The 3,000-square-foot Sacramento event space can be tailored to meet your special needs.

Other meeting spaces include the 2,280-square-foot Plaza Park Ballroom on the first floor, and the 1,855-square foot Quorum Room on the second floor. Either space can be configured in a variety of ways, whether as a meeting space, reception space, banquet space or classroom.

Onsite catering is provided by Grange Restaurant & Bar for all of your Sacramento event needs, with farm-to-table seasonal specialties for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It also features a private dining room for banquets or group dining that can accommodate up to 22 people.

San Jose, Benicia and Vallejo all served as California capital cities before Sacramento was officially named the state’s capital in 1855.

Citizens were overheard saying:

"Sacramento was ultimately selected when 19th century decision-makers liked what they saw after stopping in town briefly to refresh the horses while on the way to Lake Tahoe."
